FAQ

What can I make with these? Bracelets, necklaces and earrings where a rich, glassy green natural stone is wanted. It suits nature-inspired and statement designs.

Will the beads vary? Yes. African jade is a natural stone, so the green runs from bright emerald to deep forest, some beads are partly see-through, and many show lighter mint or white clouds. Sizes vary slightly, from 7x11mm to 7x12mm.

Is African jade real jade? African jade is a trade name, not a type of true jade (jadeite or nephrite). In the bead trade the name covers green stones from southern Africa, most often green grossular garnet, also known as Transvaal jade. It has the same glassy green look and is harder and more durable than many green stones.

How do they string? The hole runs approximately 1.0mm, which takes beading wire, nylon cord and thin elastic. Every bead is center drilled.

What pairs well with them? These natural stone beads sit especially well with gold and silver findings, and with clear quartz, aventurine or wood beads.
