Tianshan Jade
Shop Tianshan jade beads for jewelry making — green strands in faceted rondelles, smooth rondelles, faceted cubes, faceted barrels and heishi discs, sold by the strand.
Tianshan jade (天山翠) is quartzite, not jade. Like the gold silk jade sold under the same kind of trade name, it comes from Xinjiang, China, and reaches the market as a green quartzite — harder than the serpentine sold as lemon or yellow jade. It is a real stone that wears well as beads and the trade name travels with the strand; it is simply not jade. True jade means only jadeite or nephrite. Every listing states the material and size for that strand.
