Pumpkin Glass Beads

Pumpkin glass beads are melon-ribbed glass rounds, with grooves carved from hole to hole so every bead catches the light along each rib. The glass is clear enough to see through, with a warm tint and a soft iridescent shimmer sitting inside it.

At 8mm they work either way round: spaced between smooth rounds they read as a texture break, and strung end to end a whole strand reads as one ribbed rope. The shape earns its keep in autumn and Halloween designs, and in any piece that wants surface texture rather than more color.
