Howlite
Distinctive for its milky white background and natural gray-to-black veining, howlite offers a sophisticated, porcelain-like look in its natural white form, and takes dye evenly for solid blue, yellow, red and green colorways. This collection spans both finishes across a wide range of cuts: faceted rondelles, rounds, cubes, diamonds, spiral twists and bicones for extra sparkle, plus smooth rounds, rondelles, coins and heishi discs for a soft, matte look, and a few large-hole (2–2.5mm) round and rondelle options sized for leather or stretch cord.
Sizes run from small 4mm rounds up to a bold 16mm faceted round, with most strands at 15 or 15.5 inches (8 inch on the large-hole options).
FAQ
What colors does howlite come in? Natural white with gray-to-black veining, plus dyed blue, yellow, red and green — howlite takes dye evenly, so the color stays fairly consistent strand to strand with only slight variation in depth.
What's the difference between the faceted and smooth cuts? Faceted beads (rondelle, round, cube, diamond, spiral twist, bicone) catch the light for more sparkle; smooth beads (round, rondelle, coin, heishi disc) give a soft, matte, minimalist look — both work equally well for beginner or advanced jewelry making.
